The Gau Sewa Missionis not just an animal shelter — it is a sacred sanctuary where Gau Mata is served with devotion, respect, and unconditional love. Guided by the teachings and blessings of Krishnanand Ji Maharaj, the gaushala reflects the ancient Vedic understanding that cows are not merely creatures of the earth but sacred mothers, providers, and protectors of humanity.

In our scriptures, it is said: “Gavo Vishwasya Matarah” — Cows are the mothers of the universe.

This belief forms the foundation of everything we do.

A Home for the Abandoned & Injured

Our gaushala provides refuge to cows rescued from streets, traffic accidents, abandonment, and illness. Many come to us frightened, weak, injured, or malnourished. Through patient care, nutritious food, medical attention, and gentle handling, they gradually regain their health and trust. Every cow is given a name, identity, and a place in the family — no one is ever seen as a burden.

Daily Routine — Seva from Sunrise to Sunset

Our dedicated seva teams begin their day before sunrise. The first steps are cleaning the shelters, preparing the fodder, and checking on cows needing morning care. Throughout the day, cows are fed green fodder, dry fodder, grains, and special diets prepared for calves, seniors, pregnant cows, and those recovering from injury.
Water is refreshed several times a day, and shaded, ventilated shelter areas ensure comfort during summers and winters. As evening approaches, Gau Pooja is performed with devotion, and the atmosphere fills with sacred mantras.

Medical Care — Healing with Love & Science

We have regular veterinary support for:

  • Wound care
  • Fracture treatment
  • Emergency rescue
  • Deworming & vaccination
  • Special therapy for chronic cases
  • Post-accident rehabilitation

Weak and recovering cows receive additional supplements and soft bedding for safety. We believe healing happens through both medical science and divine compassion.

Shelter & Infrastructure

The gaushala is equipped with:

  • Fresh water stations
  • Calf-friendly spaces
  • Separate area for bulls
  • Medical care unit
  • Storage for fodder
  • Open grazing areas (where possible)
